Samsung is rewarding loyal consumers in South Korea with a unit of the Samsung Galaxy S6 each for customers who still have their Samsung Galaxy S in use. Local newspapers report that hundreds of customers presented working units of the 2010 smartphone and received the reward of royalty from the South Korean phone maker.
Samsung also gave away units of the spanking new Galaxy S6 to people who bought each and every one of the 13 Galaxy S models released in the country. This ranges from the Samsung Galaxy S to last year’s Galaxy S5 LTE-A. Customers were reportedly asked to only present evidence (receipts) of purchasing the smartphones and 1,600 people reportedly fall into this category.
For the records, the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S is a phone with a 4″ WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) touchscreen, 512MB of RAM, 5MP/0.3MP camera, 1GHz single-core processor, a 1500mAh battery and ran on Android 2.1 Eclair OS while the Galaxy S6 features a 5.1″ QHD (1440 x 2560 pixels) display, 3GB of RAM, octa-core chipset, 16MP/5MP camera, 2550mAh battery unit and runs on the latest reincarnation of Android OS — Android 5.0 Lollipop.
